On behalf of the Bethany Community Middle School (BCMS) Board of Directors, Administration, Faculty, and Staff, we are excited to announce the addition of three teachers who are new to BCMS for the 2016-2017 school year. Each teacher brings significant teaching expertise and will generate excitement in her classroom. In hiring these three teachers, their love of students and education was evident and led us to ask each to become BCMS Wolves.
Mrs. Julie Blount will teach eighth-grade math and focus math. She moves to BCMS from Guilford County Schools and has taught in Georgia, North Carolina, Colorado, and North Carolina (again!). Mrs. Blount has experience teaching elementary and middle school grades in traditional and charter public schools and comes to us as a highly qualified and recommended teacher.
Mrs. Cindy Bullard will teach seventh-grade math, focus math, and STEM. She joins BCMS after teaching middle school math and science and high school English in local traditional and charter public schools. Mrs. Bullard has achieved National Board Certification and is a recipient of numerous teaching awards, most recently being awarded the 2015 Outstanding K-8 Educator in Science, Mathematics and Technology by the North Carolina Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Center, as well as being a Kenan Fellow at NC State University. Mrs. Bullard is also an award-winning author of middle grades and young adult fiction. Published through Odyssey Books, her books are written under the pseudonym, Cindy Cipriano.
Mrs. Tori Spencer will teach eighth-grade science, focus science, focus math, and fitness and nutrition. She comes to BCMS after an accomplished career in Rockingham County Schools. Mrs. Spencer is a well-regarded teacher, and we are fortunate she chose BCMS.
We are delighted all three teachers said “yes” to BCMS. Please join us in giving each a warm welcome and inviting them into our family!
