Did you know…BCS students can earn and apply college credits towards an Associates degree through the Bethany Community School/Rockingham Community College Partnership. These credits are also transferable to the UNC University System and select private colleges and universities.

SPORTS TRYOUTS
March 4th – 7th-MS and HS Girls Soccer tryouts 3:30 to 5:00 at RCC. A bus will take the girls to RCC and parents will need to pick them up at RCC at 5:00 pm

MARCH 5TH – BASEBALL TRYOUTS AT PEARMAN BALL PARK AT OLD BETHANY SCHOOL 3:30-5:00
Baseball tryouts will beTuesday from 3:30 to 5:00. Coach Ben Fultz will have a mandatory player/parent meeting to discuss expectations, signing additional paper work and the schedules will be given out for games and practice. March 5 – High School Information Session
Rising 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students and their families are invited to attend an information session to learn more about the Rockingham Community College/Bethany Community School Partnership. The information session is from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5th at Bethany Community School. Families and students will learn more about the partnership, including course offerings, qualifying standards, and necessary steps towards earning career and technical certifications and an associate’s degree. This information session is focused on rising 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.

March 7 – ENROLLMENT OPEN HOUSE
First time visitors who are interested in attending Bethany Community School are invited to attend our Enrollment Open House on Thursday, March 7th from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. We encourage our students and families currently attending BCS to invite friends, family members, and neighbors to attend and learn more about our school. We are accepting new students for the 2019-2020 academic year in grades 6-11.

MARCH 11TH – 18TH BCS BOOK FAIR
Please feel free to come out and visit our Book Fair. If you would like to volunteer to work at the Book Fair please call the office and speak with Mrs Fowler.

MARCH 21ST – SOCCER SPORTS PICTURES
Soccer sports pictures will be taken by Life Touch on March 21st in the gym. This is the make up day from March 5th for the Soccer team only.

March 26 – New Student Enrollment Lottery
We will conduct the lottery for new students on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. The lottery will take place at the beginning of our regularly scheduled school board meeting. The lottery will be conducted electronically and completed in minutes through the LotterEase program. Registered families will learn results immediately following the completion of the lottery.

APRIL 20TH – SECOND ANNUAL BCS ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB GOLD TOURNAMENT
The tournament is scheduled for Saturday April 20th. We are looking for volunteers, players, and sponsors. For more information, check out our Facebook page or contact Wendy Sokal at jsokal@triad.rr.com.

STUDENT PICK UP AND TRANSPORTATION CALLS
Due to the length of the car line and being able to exit the school, we are asking that no student be checked out after 2:00 pm. Also, if you need to change your child’s transportation, please call the office before 2:00 pm. Thank you.

MAY 18TH-8TH GRADE DANCE

SAGEBRUSH STEAKHOUSE IN REIDSVILLE  HELPS SUPPORT BCS ATHLETICS
Beginning February 5th  Sagebrush Steakhouse will be donating 10% of all sales to the BCS athletic booster club. This is a great opportunity to eat good food and support our school. All you have to do is eat and inform your server that you are with BCS. Come out the first Tuesday of every month and support BCS.

SCHOOL SPIRIT NIGHT AT ELIZABETH’S PIZZA IN WENTWORTH
Come out and enjoy some pizza while raising money for the BCS Weight Room. Spirit night is held every 4th Monday of the month at 5:30 and 10% of all proceeds go the BCS. The next Spirit Nights will be held on January 28th, February 25th, March 25th, April 22nd and May 27th, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.

We are excited to announce that the Bethany PTSO is up and running. This year’s officers are: President-Marian Hilliard, VP-Laura Rogers, Treasurer-Lori Murphy, and Secretary-Katie Amos. Looking for an easy way to earn cash for our school? Check out the packaging of products you routinely buy for Box Tops. Clip the Box Top Label from participating products and send them to the school. Each label is worth 10 cents. ON-LINE LUNCH ORDERING REMINDER
In order for your child to receive lunch through the ORGS system, you have to order the week before and no later than midnight Thursday. If your order does not go through please call the school and get a paper menu for your child.
