TEACHER WORKDAYS
Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29 are teacher workdays.  The school will be closed to students on both days. 

MIDDLE SCHOOL RED RIBBON WEEK
We would like for the Middle School to help us celebrate the rest of red ribbon week. Red ribbon week started Wednesday(10/23)with wearing your favorite team jersey and we will continue until October 31st. Thursday, October 24th- “Sock it to drugs” wear mismatched socks. Friday, October 25th- “Follow your dreams, live drug free.” dress as your dream job. Wednesday, October 30th- “Don’t let drugs mix you up.” wear mismatched clothes. On the last day, Thursday, October 31st- “Double up against drugs.” You and a friend dress alike. 

HIGH SCHOOL RED RIBBON WEEK
Our BCS high school students have spent this week encouraging anti-bullying through acts of kindness.  They will continue tomorrow with Lunch Buddy Day where students will reach out and sit with someone new during lunch. Next week, the high school will celebrate with three days of anti-bullying spirit days.  Wednesday, October 30 will be Farm Day–”Plant a Seed of Kindness” Thursday, October 31 is Book Character Day– “Don’t be an Antagonist” Friday, November 1 is Golden Oldies Day– “Thank You for Being a Friend”.  We’d love all of our high school to participate and show their spirit. 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need volunteers to help in the lunch-room on Fridays to help pass out lunches and other items. We need help from 11:20 to 1:15 every Friday.

PreACT INFORMATION – 10th Grade Families Only
All Grade 10 students received a letter detailing information pertaining to their PreACT exam scheduled for November 14. Please review the letter and contact Mr. Walton if you have any questions. 

PROCTORS FOR HIGH SCHOOL REQUESTED
Our Grade 10 students will participate in the PreACT on Thursday, November 14. Proctors are required for this exam. If you are interested in proctoring, please visit the school website and complete the PreACT Proctor Survey. Mr. Walton will communicate additional information once you have registered to proctor. 

PTSO GENERAL SESSION MEETING
You’re invited to our first PTSO meeting, which is scheduled for Monday, November 4th at 6:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there and planning how we can support our BCS families this year. We will meet in the BCS Commons.

FALL BOOK FAIR – SAVE THE DATE
Our fall Scholastic Book Fair will be here November 4-12.  More information will be coming soon. We are in need of volunteers. Please call the office if you are available to help. Online orders can start October 30 and run to the end of the Book Fair, November 12. 

LOST AND FOUND
Misplaced that new jacket or lunchbox? If your student has left anything at school, please have them look in the lost and found for their lost items.  Any items left in the lost and found after October 31st will be donated to Goodwill. 

BCS ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB
Our Mrs. Pumpkin’s fundraiser has started and will continue until Friday, November 8th.  Awards will be added to the top three sellers: 1st place – Apple Beats by Dr. Dre Wireless Headphones, 2nd place – $50 VISA gift card, 3rd place – $25 VISA gift card! 

OCTOBER CALENDAR
Oct. 28-29 – Teacher Workdays–school closed to all students
Nov. 1 – Howl Night –Introduction to the Winter Sports Season
Nov. 7 – Student-Led Conferences (Middle School) 6:00-7:00
Nov. 7 – Walk-the-Schedule Night (High School) 7:00-8:00
Nov. 4-12 – Scholastic Book Fair 

BASEBALL WORKOUTS
High School- Tuesdays and Thursdays – 3:30-5:30
Middle School- Wednesdays – 3:30-5:30
Players must have current sports physical and concussion form on file with the school to participate.
Workouts will be at Pearman Ballpark. Parents are to pick up at Pearman Ballpark. 

BASKETBALL TRYOUTS
First day of basketball tryouts will be Monday, October 28 with the following schedule:
Middle and High School girls – 3:15-5:15
Middle School boys – 5:15-6:45
High School boys – 6:45-8:45

All participants must have a current physical and concussion form to participate. Physicals and concussion forms may be given to Coach Gann, Coach Rodgers, Coach Hinson or Coach Kallam before tryouts.
